To all descendants of Ngāti Hura
A special hui has been called to discuss the options for internment of Kōiwi exhumed on Mokoia Pā as part of the AMETI (Auckland Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative) a transport project undertaken by Auckland Transport in Eastern and Southern Auckland.
This Kaupapa is important and is not for the decision of one person. It needs to be discussed so the descendants of Ngāti Hura can take the time to come together, reconnect and care for our tupuna.
Venue:Hui to be held at Kaiaua Community Hall / Bowling Club Lipscombe Road Kaiaua
Date: Saturday 17th September 2022. Time: 10.00am
Mihimihi – Karakia
1.Whakawhanaungatanga
2.History of Mokoia Mauinaina and its significance to Ngāti Hura.
3.Overview of AMETI project and finding of Kōiwi
6.Current status of Kōiwi and options for internment.
7.General Discussion / Questions
9.Where to from here
10.Karakia Whakamutunga
Due to the lack of Wi-Fi connection and the sensitivity of the discussion at the venue this hui will NOT be Live streamed.
Therefore, I would ask that you or someone from your whānau attend this hui.
I also ask that only Ngāti Hura descendants be present at this hui, so as not to cloud the Kaupapa.
Meantime should you have any questions contact Frank Rawiri (Ngāti Hura – Ngāti Paoa me Ngati Pakau, Ngati Toro – Ngāpuhi) by email on ngatipaoa.hura@gmail.com
